Summary: The Salesperson is responsible for improving the sales of Company products in each assigned account. S/he is also responsible for directing, controlling and evaluating the delivery and merchandising activities of the Route Driver.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Merchandises the complete product line including the filling of coolers, shelves and displays.
  • Advantageously leverages product’s visibility and competitive activity in each account by requesting additional placement, display, sign, static or price reduction
  • Strategizes with low volume accounts to maintenance service and increase profitability
  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from inquiries, trade shows, direct mail responses, aged leads, dealer resellers, business directories, internet sites, and other sources.
  • Makes lead follow-up calls and visits to potential and existing customers to qualify leads and quantify future sales.
  • Networks in the community to establish report and additional leads; offers samples of products to current and potential customers.
  • Awareness of competitive activity and proactively take advantage of sales opportunities
  • Tracks stock levels.
  • Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of production and delivery schedules.
  • Builds and maintains customer relationships.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions.
  • Ensure proper rotation is in effect for all accounts.
  • Pull close dated product from the cooler/shelf to place for driver pick-up and return to the warehouse.
  • Require all product with expired dates to be returned to the warehouse for disposal.
  • Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
  • Conducts all activities in accordance with local, state and federal liquor control regulations.
  • Travels to and attends all applicable, approved events to boost company sales.
  • Keeps the company informed on competitive products, promotional matter, pricing and market policies.
  • Prepares sales forecasts

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to quick learn new applications, prefer experience with DBEV.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Travel Demands: Occasional domestic travel up to 25%.

  • Follows company policies on close dated and out of code products.
  • Actively participates in sales meetings and presentations.
  • Accountable for calling on all licensed accounts in assigned territory.
  • Takes initiative to educate self on all company products for sale.
  • Executes promotional discounts from distributor to retail.
  • General knowledge of market pricing.

Summary: Under the direction of the Merchandising Manager, the Merchandiser executes effective administration and utilization of all point of sale material, including, but not limited to, storage, display, general maintenance and repair.

  • Upon receipt of point of sale material from a supplier, checks to ensure that all point of sale received is accounted for and in good condition and makes necessary documentation, when necessary.
  • Sustains a well-organized, orderly and neat point of sale storage area with knowledge of existing inventory.
  • Installs permanent, pre-booked, on premise back bar point of sale.
  • Completes all permanent installations, pre-booked by Salesmen.
  • Ensure proper rotation is in effect for all accounts.
  • Reclaims and removes all point of sale that has been replaced by other point of sale, or ensures its removal through Driver or Pre-salesmen.
  • Assists supplier’s personnel as requested by Merchandising Manager.
  • Submits daily a record of activities and installations, and ensures effective use of point of sale and/or other merchandising material.
  • Assists with the preparation of special events.
  • Develops and submits to Merchandising Manager for approval point of sale programs, and upon approval, administers these.
  • Upon completion of off-sale point of sale installation, checks that Company products within that account have proper position, box stock, shelf and inventory rotation, merchandising, such as shelf strips, price stickers, etc. If not, will correct where necessary before departing from that particular account.
  • Other duties as assigned.
